Mindfulness
Mindfulness has been described in many ways and by many people as “just sitting down and doing nothing.” It seems simple but often is far from.
Let’s break it down a little, starting with sitting or lying down, and just noticing what’s going on. How is your breath, what does your body feel like, what do your senses notice? What is your mind doing?
That’s the starting point for doing “nothing.” Simply from a place of mildness, gentleness and compassion, observing what comes up, letting it happen. Being kind to yourself, to who you are in this moment. Maybe you even take a beat while reading this—who are you right now?
The focus is on becoming and staying aware, mild and open.
Enjoy.
